Pioneer Guide

The first edition of the “ UAE Exports and Industry Directory for the United Arab Emirates constitutes a referential source consistent with the plan of Dubai Export Development Corporation (EDC). This Establishment, founded with a strategic economic aspiration, aims to develop exports of the state of the United Arab Emirates to support its national economy for the benefit of strategic ambitions through giving versification priority of its national income resources.

Consequently, the importance to issue this Guide depends on basics and scientific standards for genuine familiarization of products of the State of Emirates particularly for the industrial sector due to the important development that Emirates industry witnessed in the domains of investment and production.  In our opinion, the Guide according to the applied method constitutes a unique reference of its kind in the Gulf states and the Middle-East so that the Emirates is considered the first state in the region that used this skill for accurate acquaintance with its products to facilitate their flow in the interior and exterior markets particularly when it referred to international classification, Harmonized System Code, that most countries of the world used in exchanging goods in spite that these states were incapable to classify their products in this system specifically that Emirates industry is classified according to sections, articles and geography.  Moreover, the Guide included all the Emirates states.
The stated Guide provides the consistent need to fill the basic gap in the economic library of the Gulf as well as the Arabic and international ones.

In order for the Guide to provide integral result in the marketing level concerning national Emirati products, the fundamental productive sector included the industrial sector, subsequent to oil in the state of Emirates.  In addition, four supporting economic sectors were added to the significance of this sector.  They are banks, insurance, transport, importers of industrial equipment and raw materials. The Guide does not only constitute an integral economic market for sectors included primarily, but it also accomplishes a target long needed for countries promoting their products outside their markets.
For the extent of endurances and obstacles that faced the preparation of materials of this Guide specifically in field survey which constituted basic difficulties that we overcame due to the existing cooperation with the Dubai Export Development Corporation (EDC) and the beneficial experience of the survey team.  We hope that the accomplishment of this project fulfills the expected targets.

We expect from the Guide project and what contains of various attributes to open the path for many Gulf and Arab countries to follow the model of Emirates.  Therefore, an essential and integral step will be accomplished among markets.  It is worth notifying that the exerted efforts and the highly cost spent to accomplish this work, specifically the field study, would not have reached this result without the extended experience of subsisting the endurances of Arab industries as well as the exchange of items among these states.    

We highly count on the Emirates concerned authorities to appreciate this effort through taking the responsibility of the productive sector particularly the industry.  We hope to include this sector in the essential interests in the domain of introducing our national product since in our opinion this project consists of rare acquired benefits where tens of similar project trials have not accomplished yet.
